Dr. Richard Connelly
Chairman & Co-Founder

In addition to his leadership role at BII, Connelly focuses on driving high-value advisory services for the design and development of risk and performance management business intelligence systems, most notably with the Bank of New York. There, he helps guide the strategic application of business intelligence by extracting risk analysis information from daily securities transactions, and channeling key controls information to the desktops of responsible managers around the world.
Connelly's career includes over 25 years of experience in planning and organizing business operations. Prior to co-founding BI International, he was a Senior Vice President of the Hay Group, and was responsible for leading the firm's strategy implementation consulting practice in the financial services industry sector. This included merger and acquisition implementation for banks, thrift institutions, and insurance companies. Assignments included work with the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, the (Resolution Trust Corporation), and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).
Before the Hay Group, Connelly served at CIGNA/INA. There, he was INA Corporate Director for Organization Planning/Management Development and Vice President of Planning for CIGNA's Wholesale Insurance Group. Connelly was responsible for wholesale insurance business strategic planning, which included streamlining special risk, excess and surplus, and group insurance relationships with major global and national corporate relationships.
Prior to that, he served as Group Executive for Human Resources in the Operations/Data Processing Division of Chase Manhattan Bank. His responsibilities included planning and implementing organization change to accommodate the introduction of new services and new computer systems that re-defined the conduct of commercial banking.
Connelly is also the principal author of “The Multidimensional Manager: 24 Ways to Impact Your Bottom Line in 90 Days” and “The Multidimensional Organization”
Connelly received a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Notre Dame. He holds a doctorate in organizational communications and management information systems from Michigan State University.

Roland Mosimann

Roland Mosimann provides clients with globally-recognized thought leadership and 25 years of industry experience. He leads major client relationships and strategy initiatives for the company. Most recently, he drove the launch of the Aline™ platform for on-demand Governance, Risk, Compliance.
Prior to founding BI International, Mosimann was a member of the Executive Board of the World Economic Forum (Davos) in Geneva, Switzerland. Responsible for leading the financial services and supply chain management sectors of the Forum’s activities, he worked with chief executive officers and cabinet level government officials in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Before that, Mosimann was a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Zurich, a management consulting firm that helps leading organizations improve their performance. Previously, he had served as Market Executive for Asian sales operations for Tetra Pak, located in Singapore.
Mosimann is also a co-author of “The Multidimensional Manager: 24 Ways to Impact Your Bottom Line in 90 Days,” and “The Performance Manager: Proven Strategies for Turning Information into Higher Business Performance.” These books examine the partnership between decision makers in companies and the people who provide them with the information to make better decisions.
He holds a Master’s of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics. Mosimann is a dual citizen of Switzerland and the USA.

Richard Binswanger
Senior Vice President, Business Development

Richard Binswanger, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BI International currently drives the company’s consulting and partner strategy. He has worked extensively with clients to help them reach compliance and is the author of numerous articles and whitepapers on SOX Best Practices.
With nearly 30 years experience in the education, sales and marketing, Binswanger previously served as CIO for Binswanger Company, a $55 million real estate management company with $2 billion in transaction activity annually. There, he designed and implemented a $3 million CRM system for the International Real Estate division with 160 offices worldwide. He also developed and implemented the company’s Web marketing strategy.
Before moving to real estate and sales, Binswanger had a 23-year education career at various learning institutions in Pennsylvania. As President of The Learning Greenhouse, a consulting company for integrating technology into the classroom, Binswanger won a major state grant to use the Web to help children with learning disabilities. He also held teaching positions at Woodlynde School, Agnes Irwin School, and Germantown Academy.
He serves on the Board of Directors of The United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, is an officer of the board of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness and is founder of the Creative Greenhouse, a non-profit organization dedicated to support of creative thinking.
Binswanger is a candidate for a PhD in education leadership from the University Of Pennsylvania Graduate School Of Education and holds a master’s degree in computer science from Villanova University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Brown University.

Justin Craig
Director, Client Services

Justin Craig is Director of Product Management and Client Relations for BI International where he has developed custom compliance analytics for numerous Aline clients to support optimization of control frameworks.
He joined BII in 2006, and is responsible for the product management of Aline4SOX, working directly with current and prospective clients on technical and functional issues.
Prior to his affiliation with BII, Craig played a key role in Avaya’s (NYSE / $5.1 billion revenue) Sarbanes-Oxley program management office, managing the company’s SOX program for payroll, human resources, financial reporting, and treasury processes. Previously, he held several high-level and executive positions at AT&T, including Business Controls Manager, Acting Chief Financial Officer for AT&T Easylink services in Sydney, Australia, and Controller and Financial Analyst.
Craig holds a bachelor of commerce degree in accounting from University of West Sydney in Hawkesbury, Australia. He currently is pursuing an MBA from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Dominic Varillo
Senior Vice President, Product Development

Dominic Varillo joined BII in 1997, and as the technology lead has been responsible for every aspect of architecting and developing the Aline product suite. He has also developed other BII products, including DecisionSpeed, a tool for Performance Management assessment and requirements design; the Enterprise Information Management System (EIMS), a comprehensive metadata repository for managing information technology and Business Intelligence reporting; and the Business Intelligence University (BIU), a business simulation engine. In addition, he has taken the technical lead on BII’s consulting projects. Dominic has more than 15 years of technology and Business Intelligence experience.
Prior to joining BII Dominic was a Senior Programmer at Johnson & Higgins, where he was responsible for new development and maintenance of the firm’s Time Management and Billing System. Prior to J&H, as a Financial Analyst he developed applications to enhance the budgeting process and financial system reporting capabilities at the Law School Admission Council and Pep Boys. Dominic earned a B.S. in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University in 1987.
